Search Engine Marketing (SEM)

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the method of improving the visibility of a website or a web page in search engines via the "natural listings" or un-paid search results. Optimization involves making pages decipherable to search engines while accentuating key topics related to your content. This process includes both on page and off page elements. On page elements include Meta tags, headers, keyword density in text, etc. Off page elements includes incoming links from other web sites.  I will conduct a detailed analysis of your web site and provide recommendations for improving your on page elements, as well as link building strategies.

Paid Placement (Pay-Per-Click)

Paid Placement or Pay-Per-Click (PPC) is an Internet advertising model in which advertisers’ listings appear on the results page for a specific keyword search. The advertisers pay the search engine only when their ad is clicked. The ranking of paid placement listings is determined primarily by competitive bidding. Websites that utilize PPC ads will display an advertisement when a keyword query matches an advertiser's keyword list, or when a content site displays relevant content. Paid placement listings are displayed separately from “natural listings” and are identified as advertisements or sponsored links.
Google AdWords, and Microsoft AdCenter (Yahoo and Bing!) are the two largest paid placement network operators. Both networks operate under a bid-based model. Cost-per-click prices vary depending on the search network and the level of competition for a particular keyword. PPC marketing is one of the most effective means of quickly creating a presence on the internet. I can set up and manage a PPC program for your or, alternatively, I can assist you in setting up and managing a program on your own.

Local Search Marketing

Local Search Marketing is the process of improving the search visibility and ranking of local businesses on the search engine results page. Each of the major search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing) offer free listings for local businesses. These listings appear in the search results usually accompanied by a map indicating the location of the selected businesses. The search engines will display local business listings for an appropriate keyword search based on the location used in the search term or by the IP address of the computer being used. As with the natural search results, the search engines have an algorithm to determine the ranking of local businesses for any given keyword. The map listings are an excellent means of marketing your business on the internet. I can create a customized program that will improve your site’s local search visibility and ranking.

Paid Inclusion (Directories)

Paid Inclusion is the marketing practice of paying an online directory to index pages from your site in their database. Unlike paid placement, you aren't guaranteed a particular place in the search rankings.  Businesses can use Paid Inclusion to gain traffic to your website and to increase the number of backlinks which is instrumental in search engine site rankings. I can make recommendations as to which free and paid directories are best suited for your needs.
